Oz Comic-Con FlexRefund Add-On Terms & Conditions
Who can purchase the FlexRefund Add-On?
Anyone purchasing an Oz Comic-Con ticket online through the Oz Comic-Con ticketing site will have the option to add FlexRefund at the time of purchase. The add-on can only be added to new online transactions up until one week prior to the event, subject to availability.
Do I just have to buy it once for my whole ticket order?
FlexRefund Add-On must be purchased once per ticket. Each ticket is registered to an individual through the checkout process, in order to be valid, FlexRefund Add-On must be purchased once per ticket if you want every ticket holder to have it. If you only require it for one person, only add it to that person’s ticket. Ticket refunds using the FlexRefund Add-On will be given if the named ticket holder has the add-on only.
What is the coverage amount?
The FlexRefund Add-On will refund the face value of the Oz Comic-Con ticket in case of a covered circumstance that prevents attendance. It does not cover additional costs such as tokens or other items purchased with the ticket.
What does it cover?
Covered circumstances include injury or illness preventing attendance (including acting as a primary carer), national/civil service, redundancy from full-time employment, travel disruptions, and death. A complete list can be viewed in our FlexRefund Add-On Terms & Conditions, found here. Refund requests must be made up to 7 days after the closing date of the event. No refunds or replacements will be issued after this time
The add-on does not cover change of mind, availability due to other commitments, cancelled leave, or circumstances not explicitly listed.
What is the coverage period?
Coverage begins as soon as the add-on is purchased and ends 7 days after the closing date of the event. No refunds or replacements will be issued after this time to allow for processing and reissuing to other attendees.
How do I make a refund request with FlexRefund Add-On?
All requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected], including: a) Reason for claim from one of the valid refund circumstances, b) Confirmation ID of the ticket order, and c) Supporting evidence (e.g., doctor’s certificate, death certificate, official letters). All refund requests must be made no later than 7 days after the closing date of the event. No refunds or replacements will be issued after this time
Oz Comic-Con reserves the right to determine acceptable evidence. Claims without proper evidence will not be processed. If approved, payment details may be required for processing. Tickets once refunded will be void from use.
How to Purchase FlexRefund Add-On?
FlexRefund Add-On is available as an option during the online checkout process on the billing page. Upon completion of your order, the confirmation page and email will acknowledge the purchase of FlexRefund Add-On.
What if I don’t purchase FlexRefund Add-On during checkout?
Once you complete checkout, you cannot add FlexRefund Add-On afterward. Tickets purchased without FlexRefund Add-On are non-refundable under any circumstances.
Can I request a refund if I accidentally selected the FlexRefund Add-On option?
No, we cannot refund the additional charge for the FlexRefund Add-On.
Is FlexRefund Add-On offered on Merch pre-sales?
No, you can’t select FlexRefund Add-On when pre purchasing Oz Comic-Con merchandise. However your order can be converted to an online order for fulfillment, picked and shipped out to you.
Is FlexRefund Add-On offered on guest photograph or autograph tokens pre-sales?
No, you can’t select FlexRefund Add-On when pre purchasing Oz Comic-Con guest tokens. However your order can be converted to an online absentee pack order for fulfillment, and shipped out to you.

Requesting a Refund
Required Evidence Illness or Injury
- Signed and dated doctor’s certificate indicating the sickness or injury prevents attendance.
- Confirmation letter from a medical professional confirming an upcoming planned surgery during event dates.
- Signed and dated doctor’s certificate indicating the need to care for a seriously ill family member.
Death
- Death certificate of the ticket holder, spouse, immediate or dependent family member.
Civil or Military Service
- Copy of jury/court summons, court summons or military deployment orders during event dates.
- Proof of emergency services callup & requirements during event dates.
Work Redundancy or Relocation
- Letter from previous employer confirming redundancy or relocation – post dating event ticket purchase date.
- Documentation from Centrelink confirming redundancy assistance and current unemployment status during event dates.
Public Transport Failure/Mechanical Breakdown
- Unexpected disruption or failure of the public bus, train, tram or ferry network which is not foreseeable before the date of the event. Confirmation of failure or disruption of the public transport. (This can normally be obtained from the transport company’s website).
- Unexpected mechanical breakdown which is not foreseeable, in the 24 hours prior to the event, the mechanical breakdown, accident, fire or theft of a vehicle taking you to the event. Confirmation of a call out from roadside assistance or mechanic. An incident number or report from the Police or relevant traffic authority.
Flight disruption
- Flight cancellation or significant delay which you were unaware of before the event date that prevents you from attending.
- A copy of your airline ticket and notice of cancellation or disruption from the airline.
Adverse Weather
- Weather where a Government Agency has issued warnings not to travel which mean you cannot attend.
- A copy of the travel warning from the Government Agency.
- Confirmation of relevant route closures.
Changes to Examination Dates (Post dating ticket purchase date)
- A copy of a notice from the examination body, school, college, or university confirming the change of date – post dating event ticket purchase date.
In addition to the listed covered reasons, we may, at our discretion, consider other emergency circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Exclusions (Reasons We Do Not Provide Refunds)
Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance of an event due to any of the following reasons, whether directly or indirectly associated:
- Change of mind
- Change of guest lineup
- Communicable Disease
- Any actual or perceived:
- Wildfires
- Volcanic eruptions
- Tsunamis
- Earthquakes
- War, hostilities, or terrorism
- Civil commotion, strikes, or industrial action
- Imprisonment, repatriation, deportation
- Poisonous biological materials or radioactivity
- Cyber incidents or cyber acts
- State property seizure
- Failure to comply with any law
- Where another paying party is responsible
Important Information
- Any reasons and/or supporting documentation submitted by you in support of a refund application will be considered by us on a fully discretionary basis.
- We are not an insurance provider, and this add-on is not an insurance policy. Refunds are therefore not guaranteed.
- The FlexRefund Add-On is an optional extension to our standard Terms & Conditions of sale. It provides eligibility for refunds in certain defined circumstances as outlined in this document.
