Welcome to the Oz Comic-Con CommUnity Space. A safe and inclusive haven for members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community at the show.
Our goal is to create an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and accepted, while they celebrate what they love at Oz Comic-Con.
The CommUnity Space is designed to be a place where attendees can come together to socialize, and celebrate their love for all things queer pop culture. We provide a welcoming atmosphere where you can engage in activities, discussions and meetups that centre around queer representation and diversity in pop culture.
Our team is comprised of individuals who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. Oz Comic-Con look forward to providing a safe, inclusive space for all.
You are not alone.
And to prove it, we’ve got CommUnity meet-ups that will help you find your tribe. Do you have strong opinions on blorbo from your shows? Would you like to discuss the relative merits of whump vs angst? Do you love the colour of the sky? We’re sure you’ll be able to find someone who shares your hyperspecific headcanon on the significance of the curtains being blue, but you’ll need to head on down to the CommUnity Space to meet them.
Oz Comic-Con look forward to providing a safe, inclusive space for all.
We will have a range of different activities for you to take part in as part of the Comm-Unity Space.
We will have a selection of queer positive comics & manga in our mini library for you to browse and read through. Drawing tables where you can make your own art to decorate the walls of the space, create your own mini art to turn into a badge, or make your own bracelet with our crafting supplies.
Why not chill out for a little while and play some casual Jackbox with your friends (or new friends), as well as a recharge station with bean bags to sit, read and unwind in a safe relaxing space.
For the shyer ones in the CommUnity, we will have some fun conversation starter menu’s available, made especially for our Speed Friending sessions, but available throughout the weekend!
headspace Adelaide support young people aged 12-25 with their wellbeing. They’ll be at Oz Comic-Con this year providing chillspace!
Are you wanting a space to take a short break? Or hang out with your friends?
Come take a short rest a chillspace! A safe and inclusive area for all, to help you get the most out of your day! We’ll have an array of fun activities that you can borrow to use in the space.
There will also be an area where young people can anonymously provide us with feedback about our services – we’d love to hear from you.
Chillspace is open to all attendees of Oz Comic-Con Adelaide!
If you’re a part of an event or a group who would be interested in partnering with Oz Comic-Con to present an inclusive or mental health activity or space at one of our shows, please feel free to reach out to the team.
Expressing interest does not guarantee your activity will be accepted as part of Oz Comic-Con. We will however, respond to all requests, whether they are accepted or not.

Local cosplay photographers will be present, ready to take your photo in Cosplay Central. And the best part? All photo sessions are complimentary! Check out your cosplay snaps after the show in our social media albums!
Sometimes your cosplay goes awry. That’s why we have a cosplay change room featuring a cosplay repair station and a team and supplies on hand to help you with your cosplay repairs.
If you’re dressed for the occasion be sure to check out the Cosplay Meetup schedule & meet some likeminded fans in awesome cosplay! Take a group cosplay picture in front of our awesome photo wall to immortalise the occasion!
