code of conduct

Oz Comic-Con (OCC) is committed to ensuring the safety of its fans. That includes providing an atmosphere that is free from harassment or behaviour that would be considered inappropriate for the family friendly environment of the event. By attending OCC, all fans are bound to respect and agree to the event’s Code of Conduct contained below. The Code of Conduct may be subject to change and failure to comply with any aspect of the Code of Conduct is grounds from ejection from the event as well as future bans. The OCC staff have sole discretion in determining whether the Code has been followed.

Oz Comic-Con has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind.

If a person engages in harassing behaviour, Oz Comic-Con (OCC) Staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from OCC with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the convention. Exhibitors, Fans (Attendees), Speakers, Guests, Professionals, Press, Staff, Volunteers and Security are all subject to our anti-harassment policy and will be held to the same standards and disciplinary action.

Anyone can report harassment. If someone’s behaviour has made you uncomfortable, or if you witness the same happening to someone else, you should immediately contact OCC Staff, Security Team or a Crew Member. You may also come to OCC’s Show Office or information booth.
If necessary, we will contact local law enforcement, provide escort, offer a safe place or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to make sure they feel safe for the rest of OCC.

ReedPOP’s mission is to create a fun, safe, welcoming, awesome event where Fans of all kinds can come together and celebrate. We want you to not only have the most amazing weekend ever, but to experience it in an environment where you are safe and accepted. As Fans ourselves, we understand the importance of creating a safe space for everyone who attends OCC.

If at any point you feel unsafe at Oz Comic-Con or that any of the rules have been broken, we ask that you inform a volunteer or member of OCC staff immediately. Your safety is our primary concern, and if you feel that safety has been compromised, we will do everything in our power to rectify the issue. Issues of violence and harassment are addressed immediately, with guarded “Safe Areas” being designated in case any incidents do arise.

Illegal substances will not be tolerated at Oz Comic-Con. If you are caught buying, using or dealing illegal drugs while at the show, remediation steps will be taken. If you are under the influence of illegal or legal drugs and are in any way interfering with other attendees and their ability to enjoy OCC, we reserve the right to escort you from the premises with potentially even more severe remediation consequences.

Theft will not be tolerated at Oz Comic-Con. If you are caught stealing directly from another individual or taking items from any private or public areas of OCC that are not expressly indicated to be free, remediation steps will be taken, including referral to the police if necessary.

Oz Comic-Con does not tolerate the commission or act of any crime not otherwise listed in this Code of Conduct at the event itself. Fans that are caught committing any crime, especially one that may endanger the safety of themselves or other fans are at risk of expulsion from the event and referral to the police.
