Discovering cosplay in my adult years was like having colour shot back into a greying world, I discovered that all the things I loved as a child didn’t need to stay in the dress-up box of my past, I had a whole new creative opportunity in front of me to explore. Through much trial and error, I taught myself how to work with various fabrics and materials, shape and sculpt foams and worbla, worked with filming, editing, modelling and even explored the idea of self-moving props. With an advanced diploma in screen and media under my belt I leaned on my training in character design and found a love for putting my own spin on characters. Through it all I have expanded my horizons greatly, cosplay has helped me to become a more confident and creative individual. In 2022 I entered my first competition in Oz Comic-Con Canberra and took home Gold. In 2023 I won the armour category for Sydney Oz Comic-Con and was the overall Winner for the Sydney State. I love the cosplay community and the opportunities it holds for everyone, I am excited to see what happens next.
