Matt Kyme is a Melbourne-based comic book writer/artist best known for his work on The Phantom and creating That Bulletproof Kid and The Wrath Of The Cursed. Matt has the distinction of being the first ever Australian writer/artist to have a full length Phantom story published by Frew. His Phantom stories, A Day at the Races, Diana and the Heartbreakers Gang. The Issue with Heloise and The Manhunt were voted among the best stories published in their respective years. His latest story, 2024’s Enter the Phantom is a prequel to the first ever Phantom story by Lee Falk and Ray Moore from 1936.
Matt is the head writer for Art of Play’s official Phantom video game that will be released on Nintendo Switch, Playstation and Steam in December 2024. Matt is also working on another dream project for Art of Play that will be announced soon.
Matt’s work has been shortlisted for a Ledger Award and he has occasionally hosted ‘X-Band: The Phantom Podcast’.
