The company was officially founded in Applecross, Western Australia in 2005 by Wolfgang Bylsma and Skye Ogden. They had previously been involved in creating, editing and producing underground and editorial comics since the early 1990s.
With an eye for fostering and developing Australian talent, they have discovered creators who would go on to build internationally successful careers, including Tom Taylor, Andrew Constant and Justin Randall among others.
In 2010, Gary Edwards joined the Gestalt team as an intern but quickly proved himself invaluable. He now serves as an Editor while heading up our Melbourne satellite office and taking lead on East Coast convention appearances.
Following a decade of living in Tokyo, Japan and working in the gaming industry, Skye has returned to Australia and now teaches game design at university.
Wolfgang has continued developing emerging comics talent, acting as a mentor for the Australian Society of Authors and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
