Andi.tries.cosplay is a Melbourne-based creator who leapt into the cosplay world just over a year ago—and hasn’t stopped crafting, sewing, and transforming since. In that short time, Andi has brought an eclectic mix of characters to life, from Disney’s Kronk to Poison Ivy, Orin the Red, Hellboy, and even the iconic Cabbage Man from Avatar: The Last Airbender. What began as a simple passion quickly became a creative calling, with Andi learning to work with new materials, craft props once thought impossible, and even breathe new life into old clothing through clever alterations and resourceful construction.
The cosplay community has been a huge part of Andi’s journey, offering support, inspiration, and the confidence to keep pushing their skills further. Some of Andi’s most treasured memories come from conventions—whether it was guesting on a wig-styling panel that led to an unexpected hug from Brandon Rogers, or meeting Patrick Warburton in full Kronk cosplay, winning a competition, and proudly showing him the certificate afterwards. These moments fuel Andi’s mission: to share joy, celebrate creativity, and inspire others to give cosplay a try regardless of experience, skill level, or body type.
Looking to the future, Andi hopes to continue developing their foam-working skills, tackle an ever-growing list of cosplans, and spread positivity throughout the community. Their belief is simple but powerful: “If they can do it, so can I.” Through their work, presence, and passion, Andi hopes to uplift others, celebrate fandom, and shine their light across every convention they attend.
