Amy Parris, born and raised in Southern California, began her design career early, making clothes for herself and her high school friends. Taught to sew by her grandmother, she later honed her design skills at California State University, Long Beach.
After college, Amy started working in the film and TV industry, initially designing costumes for indie movies and music videos for her friends’ bands. With a belief that a character’s story can be told visually through their clothing, she collaborates closely with both actors and directors to ensure the script is brought to life through wardrobe.
Amy has worked on television series and movies across various genres and time periods, including HBO’s Westworld, Showtime’s Yellowjackets, and Netflix’s Stranger Things. Many of her designs from Stranger Things seasons 3 and 4 have been featured in collections by brands like Levis, Quiksilver, and in stores like H&M, Hot Topic, and PacSun. She’s just wrapped up designing costumes for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things in Atlanta, Georgia.
