

Alex Brightman is an acclaimed American actor, singer, and writer best known for his energetic and comedic performances in musical theatre. He rose to prominence in 2015 when he originated the role of Dewey Finn in School of Rock on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. He followed that success with another standout performance as the mischievous and eccentric title character in Beetlejuice the Musical, which garnered him a second Tony nomination in 2019. A dynamic performer with a flair for physical comedy and character work, Brightman has become a favorite among Broadway audiences for his versatility and vibrant stage presence.
Beyond Broadway, Brightman has expanded his talents into television, voice acting, and creative development. He voices fan-favorite characters Robo Fizz and Fizzarolli in the animated series Helluva Boss, and more recently took on dual roles in Hazbin Hotel as Sir Pentious and Adam. His TV work also includes a recurring role as forensic scientist Herbie Hambright in The Blacklist. A writer and collaborator, Brightman is developing new musical adaptations including The Whipping Boy and It’s Kind of a Funny Story, and is a founding member of the musical comedy group The (M)orons. With a career that bridges Broadway, animation, and screen, Brightman continues to be one of the most inventive and engaging performers of his generation.
