BADCATBAD

Cosplaying since 2016, I have displayed costumes at the SMASH! Cosplay Display from 2019 (Skadii, Gohatto Disco Miku), 2022 (Cinderella Miku) , 2023 (Takt.Op – Destiny), 2024 (Etrian Odyssey – Frederica Irving). In my spare time, I enjoy conducting cosplay photoshoots with my friends, all around different areas of Sydney and NSW. Sydney and NSW has a lot of unique geographical features that I wish to take advantage of in my cosplay photoshoots.

My main specialty is embellishment and beading on a budget. I enjoy making cosplays as cheaply as possible through recycling, repurposing, thrifting and reusing. The devil is in the details and I enjoy adding lots of fun detail in my costumes.

I aim to make clothes that the characters would conceivably wear in real life. I like to pick materials and make embellishment choices that would conceivably match what a character would have access to. I enjoy conducting historical and cultural research to make this possible.

I focus on comfort and mobility in my costumes. This is because I enjoy running around, taking photos and having fun. I dislike having my movements restricted. I love taking silly photos and just having fun with people who also enjoy the same media as I do.

I also enjoy upgrading mass manufactured cosplay. I enjoy discovering new techniques, materials. I detest glitter and I have all manner of cost effect alternatives to glitter pleather.
