Scott Wilson is a Gooniyandi man from Muladja community and a Miriuwung Gajerrong man from Kununurra. He grew up on Yawuru country, Western Australia.
In 2010, Scott was awarded Indigenous Youth of the Year. After graduating UWA majoring in Anthropology and Indigenous History and Heritage, he studied in South America, learning about the First Nations peoples in Chile, before returning to Australia and supporting the implementation of an early childhood program in Broome called “Our Mob as First Educators.” He has held positions on mine sites in the Pilbara as well as in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet where he worked with the Behavioural Economics Team.
The connections and networks created through these experiences provided opportunities to create his first company, Ice Cream Productions who, in partnership with Comics On Country and Gestalt, launched the Aboriginal Superhero Universe under the INDIGIVERSE imprint with the flagship title, Dark Heart, becoming a bestseller around Australia!
His passion to connect and help people led him to becoming an Advocate for Youth Mental Health and supporting a national initiative to destigmatise the sharing of lived experiences, inform better ways of self-care and encourage more literacy to educate people on social emotional wellbeing.
Scott has spent his whole life searching for solutions to help break the cycle of systemic issues impacting First Nations peoples and all those affected by low-socio economic disadvantage in Australia. He believes that creativity, innovation, and collaboration is the key to social and environmental change nationally and internationally.
