Film & TV Guest

Osric Chau is a Canadian actor and filmmaker best known for his roles in Supernatural and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.

Born in Vancouver in 1986 to a Malaysian mother and Hong Kong father, Osric Chau initially wanted to be a stuntman. He trained in Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Wushu and worked on stunts for EA Games before appearing opposite David Carradine and Daryl Hannah in the TV movie Kung Fu Killer. He then made his feature film debut opposite John Cusack and Thandie Newton in the natural disaster blockbuster, 2012.

Osric is most recognisable from his role as advanced placement high school student turned prophet, Kevin Tran, in Supernatural. Appearing in seasons 7, 8, 9, and 11, Osric’s character was initially a guest role that grew to become central to the Leviathan and angel storylines.

He is keenly involved with the Supernatural fandom, appearing as himself in Kings of Con, as well as starring in The Walking Dead, Sherlock, and both Supernatural parodies by The Hillywood Show.

Osric’s other credits include starring alongside Samuel Barnett and Elijah Wood in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency; The Man with the Iron Fists; Mister French Taste; Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn; Blood and Water; and Fun Size; as well as guest spots on The 100 and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

Osric is passionate about Asian representation and diversity in entertainment, and has been involved in campaigns against media stereotyping including the “Proud to be unique” merch campaign with Represent.

In 2018, Osric starred in the independent film Empty by Design opposite Rhian Ramos and Chris Pang, which also marked his first feature film producer debut.

In 2019 you can catch him in Skate God, S41NT, ZAPS, Inc, and Demon X.
