Born in Sydney in 1976, Matt Doran is an experienced film and television actor best known for his roles in The Matrix and Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.
Matt’s first lead role was in the film Pirates’ Island at age 14, and after graduating from the Australian Film and TV Academy, he became a core cast member on Home and Away – featuring as Damian Roberts in over 400 episodes.
He has since gone on to star opposite Sam Worthington in Geoffrey Wright’s film Macbeth, Lilian’s Story with Toni Collette and Ruth Cracknell, and US production Farscape, and has worked closely with some of the most distinguished directors in highly acclaimed US productions, including Terrence Malick’s academy award nominated film The Thin Red Line, the Wachowski’s The Matrix and George Lucas’ Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones.
Matt is most recognisable from appearing opposite Ewan McGregor in Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones as Elan “wanna buy some death sticks?” Sleazebaggano, and as Nebuchadnezzar crew member, Mouse, in The Matrix. You may also recognise him from guest roles in US and Australian productions such as Rake, Farscape, All Saints, Water Rats, Stingers, Medivac, Murder Call, and Doctor Doctor.
In 2017 Matt appeared alongside Ashley Judd, Elisabeth Röhm, and Sean Patrick Flanery in the thriller Trafficked, and will appear in the upcoming 2018 medical drama, Gods of Medicine.
