Brisbane Thanks for another great year, See you in 2019!

Vicky-Vic got herself into cosplay and costuming after playing a video game back in 2009 but didn’t start the hobby until she was able to get some help from a friend to buy her first costume without her mothers knowledge and attend her first convention in 2011 in Brisbane. Getting hooked on the feeling and seeing all that was there to offer, she chatted to her mother and started using her mothers sewing machine to make her first costume in the end of 2012. Not knowing how to sew or how it was done, Vicky was self taught and has progressed into more elaborate and complex things along the way.

Having a passion for superheroes, movie characters and video games, Vicky now working mainly with spandex materials and the occasional fitted clothes. Upgrading her machines to allow for this and learning new techniques along the way.

Passion for costumes has fuelled her love of charity and she works with the Redback Garrison – 501st Legion and Tatooine Base – Rebel Legion to help raise funds for charity while in costumes. Vicky also enjoys helping out on the Children’s Hospital Troops that these organisations bring to the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, smiles are the best medicine.

When not making Costumes she works as a Registered Nurse in the Brisbane Children’s Hospital as an Emergency Nurse, splitting her up between bringing smiles to kids while she is in costume and helping take care of them and their families when they are in need of help. Vicky is a big believer that her cosplay is a passion and a hobby and that fun doing it together is how it should be! Buying or making; having done both in past and present makes everyone is a cosplayer.
